It was only just before Christmas that John from 14 Bike Co commissioned me to produce a series of photographs for Shop14. Considering John wanted it completed by the 14 th of February, it was a very tight turnaround. It required lugging my camera to lots of different factories all over Britain often drowning myself on copious cups of tea.
The always amazing thing about working on jobs like this is meeting people. As easy as it is to hate on the general public, I really do love them as well. People generally are really open and amazingly generous with their time, and it was no different on this project.
So we had the opening night party which was fantastic. Duncan (14’s co-owner) decided to buy a massive load of wine for the opening reception. We were just going to supply beer courtesy of Shop14’s anniversary party taking place after, but Duncan wanted to get classy.
I must admit that I am really proud of the photographs and feel it’s a real honour to have them displayed in such a fantastic location. So, I just want to finish by thanking John and Duncan, two exceptionally nice guys. Monique and Andy for helping to hang all the prints, my girlfriend Weinay (MySmallShop) for a mammoth scan and print session and all the other folk that helped me out over the last month or so.
The exhibition is on for a while yet, so you have plenty of time to come and visit.
